DePuy Hip Replacement Device

DePuy Hip Replacement Device

DePuy Orthopedics, a division of Johnson and Johnson, has issued a WORLDWIDE RECALL of its “metal-on-metal” ASR XL Acetabular System for Total Hip Replacement.  DePuy issued this recall after data revealed that this device failed in a number of patients.  Over time, these “metal-on-metal” hip implants can shed particles into the patient causing serious, painful reactions, often leading to additional hip replacement surgery.
