Malvey  — two of our firm’s senior partners — among the “Nation’s Top Attorneys” of 2019. This honor is reserved for less than 1% of top practicing attorneys across the country.

The National Association Of Distinguished Counsel, or NADC

The NADC is a professional organization committed to promoting only the highest standards of legal excellence. Every year, the NADC recognizes attorneys who not only uphold the standards of the Bar but also raise them. The organization names an elite few as the Nation’s Top Attorneys, and names distinguished recipients as “benchmarks for other lawyers to emulate.”

How Attorneys Are Chosen

The NADC employs a multi-part and unbiased selection process in order to ensure that only the best attorneys in the nation are chosen. There are four stages that each candidate must pass through before being selected, which are:

1. Nomination: candidates are identified by NADC in-house research teams or by nomination. Only nominations from NADC members, current or former clients, and fellow attorneys are accepted.
2. Vetting process: NADC researchers review information sourced from public profiles, client reviews, case results, and attorneys’ websites. Researchers evaluate numerous factors during this stage, like every candidate’s firm profile and reputation, leadership in legal organizations, community involvement, client reviews, education, trial experience, and many others.
3. Blue ribbon panel review: a group of distinguished attorneys – who have been recognized by various independent, non-NADC-affiliated organizations – carefully select candidates who will be allowed to move on to the final stage.
4. The decision: a judicial review board comprised of former judges reviews the blue ribbon panel’s selection list. This review takes place in order to ensure that every recipient epitomizes the ideals of the legal profession. The attorneys who pass through all four stages are considered the nation’s elite legal practitioners.

Learn About This Year’s Award Recipients

As one of Galfand Berger’s senior partners, Richard M. Jurewicz has successfully secured some of the firm’s largest financial recoveries on behalf of injured clients. Super Lawyers recently named Rick as one of Philly’s and Pennsylvania’s top 100 practicing attorneys, and he also received Martindale-Hubbell’s “AV” rating, which is the highest rating an attorney can achieve. Rick handles product liability, construction accident, and automobile accident cases.

Michael P. Malvey is a senior partner who joined the Galfand Berger team in 2002. Not only does Mike handle a variety of case types (like construction site accidents, medical malpractice, and premises liability matters), but he is also proficient in Spanish. Mike proudly represents members of the Latino and Hispanic communities, and currently serves as Chairperson of the Board of Directors for Esperanza Immigration Legal Services (EILS). EILS is a non-profit organization that offers low-cost legal services to immigrants and their families.
