The National Association of Distinguished Counsel, or the NADC, recently named two Partners at our firm as some of the top practicing attorneys in the nation. The NADC selected Richard M. Jurewicz and Michael P. Malvey as recipients of its prestigious “Nation’s Top Attorneys” award for 2022. The Counsel names fewer than 1% of attorneys as recipients of the award, which is reserved exclusively for practitioners who demonstrate the highest ideals of the legal profession.

The Selection Process

The NADC is a professional organization that promotes the highest standards of legal excellence. The Counsel’s mission is to recognize attorneys who elevate the standards of the Bar and provide a benchmark for other lawyers to emulate. The NADC employs a rigorous, objective, multi-stage selection process in order to identify the finest attorneys in the country. Candidates must successfully pass through four stages before the Counsel selects them for its coveted award:

• Stage 1: Identification by an in-house research team or nomination by current or former clients or practicing attorneys
• Stage 2: NADC researchers thoroughly vet candidates via information sourced from their public profiles, client reviews, firm websites, and case results. The researchers also take into account other important factors, like an attorney’s leadership in legal organizations, education, trial experience, and involvement in their community
• Stage 3: A blue-ribbon panel made up of distinguished attorneys selects which candidates will move on to the final stage of the process
• Stage 4: A judicial review board comprised of former judges assesses the blue-ribbon panel’s candidates and renders its final decisions

Richard M. Jurewicz
