Marla Soffer

Remembering Marla Soffer

It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of our colleague and friend, Marla Soffer, who passed away peacefully on February 5, 2023 following a brief illness. We feel privileged to have worked with Marla for the last 12 years and we will miss her.

Marla lived her life immersed in the arts, travel, civic engagement, and supporting those most vulnerable in our community. She was a woman of great dignity, selflessness, and honor. Marla challenged each of us to do our very best in representing our clients because she understood the necessity of excellence in our profession. Marla embraced the principles of trust, candor, and fairness.

We asked Norman Weinstein, Marla’s brother-in-law and Galfand Berger Of Counsel, to offer some thoughts about Marla. Here is what he said:

“Marla would want nothing more than for everyone to appreciate how valuable life is, how many beautiful things there are to see and explore in the world, and to live one’s life to the fullest. Should you find yourself in a museum, art gallery, community fair, or on a special trip, please think of Marla with a smile.”

We are grateful for how much Marla added to our lives and we hope her new journey will be one of peace and beauty.
