Case Summary:
Our client was working on I-95 in a designated work zone. A motorist, who fled the scene after impact, struck the van in which our client was sitting. Our client’s co-worker quickly called the police who chased the motorist down and gave him a ticket for leaving the scene of the accident.
Client suffered a debilitating neck injury that put him out of work for a year and left him with residual neck and arm pain.
Despite the bad act of fleeing the scene of an accident where a worker was seriously injured, the motorist’s insurance company refused to make a reasonable offer of settlement. They tried to defend the case saying that our client’s injuries were not caused by the collision.
Outcome:
We tried the case and obtained a verdict of $250,000 for the client.
