Although the employer initially paid compensation under the Longshore Act, payments were stopped based on the allegation that our client could perform light duty work.
We filed a claim under the PA Workers’ Compensation Act and proved that the damage to his knees was work-related and that our client needed pain medication due to the severity of the injury.
Outcome:
We negotiated a settlement for $184,500 with continuing treatment for client’s knee injuries. Additionally, our client was awarded Social Security Disability benefits.
